The Term 4 APSPA meeting was held recently which is a gathering of Principals from across the province. Ms Ann Maree Pagon, Director of Religious Education, participated in one of the days in which the 2018 Strenna put forward by The Rector Major, Fr Angel Fernandez Artime, was announced. The Strenna was inspired by the story of the ‘Samaritan Woman’ as told in John’s Gospel.

“There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask a drink of me, a woman of Samaria?” (John 4:7-9).

The Strenna will guide the St Joseph’s College community throughout 2018: “Let us cultivate the art of listening and of accompaniment.”

Congratulations to the Junior Debating Team which won the ACC Debating Competition in Division 2. Thanks to Mr Brian Martin who supported the students. Pictured L-R: Harry Johnson (8 Ledda), George Wright (8 Ledda) and Tommy Judd (8 Ledda).

I acknowledge the significant work of staff and students as they approach the end of the school year, finish exams and move into various programs such as ‘HeadStart’. HeadStart provides students with the opportunity to make a smooth transition into their 2018 programs.

All the best for the fortnight ahead.
