Forging the Future
Over the Term break, I was fortunate to participate in an educational leaders’ conference in Perth. Social researcher, Mark McCrindle, was among a strong line up of speakers over the four days. As Principals of schools across Australia, we were challenged to ensure that we are preparing our students for a future where the world of work is very different to what it is today. Bernard Salt also presented. He is famous for his editorial piece in The Australian popularising the term “smashed avocados”. He was able to provide insights into the future which complemented the trends in education presented by Mark McCrindle. The theme of the conference sat well with the St Joseph’s College’s vision that “We are a School that Prepares for Life”.
Final Days
As we move into Term 4, Year 12s are completing their final days of formal classes in VCE, VET and VCAL. Our thoughts and prayers are with the students and their families as they prepare for exams.
