Welcome back to Term 2. I trust the Easter season and holidays were a time of some rest and renewal for you.

Term 2 has brought with it the move to the Winter Uniform. I appreciate the support of families in relation to the requirements which helps to maintain our high standards. It is important that students display pride in themselves and in their College. We trust our students to ensure that they wear the uniform extremely well both within school and in public.

Your attendance at parent-teacher-student meetings late last term was appreciated. We value the partnership we share with you. Teachers are always appreciative of the interest you take in the development of your sons in terms of their learning and wellbeing.

Students recently returned from the biennial Italy Immersion. My thanks to Mr Guido Piotti, Mr Domenic Fera, Mr James Whiting, Ms Stefanie Mazzeo and Mrs Marie-Louise Bamford for their work in making this a truly memorable experience.

The Time to Shine Concert will be staged at the State Theatre on Saturday 28 July. Performances are being held at 2pm and 7.30pm. Tom Hurley (9 O’Meara), Sev Dixon (9 O’Sullivan) and Elton Salim (11 Cantamessa) will be performing and take their place with hundreds of students from across Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne. Tickets can be purchased from the following link: https://www.artscentremelbourne.com.au/whats-on/2018/contemporary-music/time-to-shine

We pray for Ms Kathleen McCrae whose husband, Kevin Henry Taggart, died recently. May he rest in peace.

I am delighted to announce that Ms Gina Di Stefano and her husband, Ben, have welcomed a baby girl, Tahlia. Also, we received the wonderful news that Mr Matt Pritchard and his wife, Casey, have welcomed a baby boy, Parker.

In the Community section at the end of this Newsletter, you will find further information regarding a fundraiser we are running in partnership with the Entertainment Book. I encourage you to consider purchasing a membership which is great value.

All the best for the fortnight ahead.

Ms Cathy Livingston
Principal
