Principal’s News – 3 December

As we approach the season of Advent and with the final term drawing to a close, many activities remain to round out the year.

Recently, the ACC Leadership Launch was held for Student Leaders from the 12 ACC Colleges. Alex Giurini (11 Ledda), Jack Moses (11 Ledda) and Campbell Stiff (11 Ledda) attended the event held at Salesian College, Chadstone. Mr Guido Piotti, Mr Liam O’Keefe and I were delighted with the way in which the boys represented our College. The purpose of the evening is to promote the relationship between the Colleges and depth the understanding of the opportunities which exist within the ACC Competition, as well as what it means to be involved in representing one’s College.

The Headstart Program continues and pictured below is Mrs Vivienne Egan addressing students enrolled in the vocational pathway program known as VCAL.

The Year 12 Valedictory Dinner was held on Friday 23 November at the newly named ‘Marvel Stadium’. It was a wonderful turn out of students and their families and a lovely way to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2018. Teikarawa Tekinene is pictured with me. He is one of our Kiribati sponsored students and recipient of our St Joseph’s College Koubwere Cross Cultural Award, who sadly leaves us to return home after his time here.

Mrs Diana van Eck has been working with us in Student Reception for a number of months. We acknowledge her support and dedicated work as she moves on from St Joseph’s College.

Our condolences are extended to Liam (8 O’Sullivan) and Bayleigh (Class of 2016) Dickinson and their family. Sadly, their mother, Mrs Kylee Dickinson, died recently.

All the best for the fortnight ahead.

Ms Cathy Livingston
Principal
